Five Presidential Lies That Led Us To War
Throughout the twentieth and twenty-first centuries governments have used lies to get their people to enter into war. For some reason, it is often hard to get young men to give up the lives they know, drop everything and enter what is basically Hell. It is important for leaders to spin a story and build a strong esprit de corps amongst a nation's youth. While this is not always the case, it did happen quite a bit during the last century. American Military Heroes Lost In 2011
While the war with Iraq came to a close, the chapter on these men’s lives also ended. They were the men of World War Two and even World War One. These men were amongst the young men who answered America’s call in a much more innocent time and it is important that we do not forget them. They come from many different branches of the service and were part of some of the greatest battles of the wars. One of them is a Congressional Medal of Honor winner and one of them should be. You've seen their lives immortalized in film and can read about them in books. Here is a tribute to those heroes of the 20th century.

You should recognize the deeds of the other two... Read more...

Memorial Day Must See WW2 Movies
Memorial Day is right around the corner and one of the things I like to do over the weekend is to watch my share of war films. It is Memorial Day, right? TNT and other cable channels will show different war films all weekend. Here are five of my favorite World War Two films. I chose World War Two because there are so many good ones out there. Do you agree with my choices? Which would you choose over the ones I have picked? I was going to include Band of Brothers, but it is a mini-series and doesn't fall into this type of list, but I highly recommend that one if you haven't see it. Enjoy the list. Read more...
