What If Nixon Hadn’t Been Ruined By Watergate?


[ReviewAZON asin=”0275979156″ display=”inlinepost”] Richard Nixon’s political career was ruined after the Watergate Scandal.  If you are unfamiliar with Watergate, it is a business complex in Washington, D.C.  In 1972, five men broke into the Democratic National Headquarters there in an effort to wiretap the Democrats.  That’s illegal.  What’s worse is that President Nixon knew about it and tried to cover it up.  Over the next two years, it was revealed by writers Bernstein and Woodward how involved the inner circle of Washington was involved.  With impeachment imminent,  Nixon resigned the Presidency and went down in disgrace.  But what would have happened if he wasn’t caught? How would America be different if Nixon got away scot-free?  Would America be in the trouble going on today if Nixon had got away with it? Five Things That Don’t Scare Me

[ReviewAZON asin=”080509606X” display=”inlinepost”]With all of the fear generated in the world today, you would think the United States doesn’t stand much of a chance to make it in this world.  Just by listening to the news and the people on Capitol Hill will tell you that the other guy is wrong. Right? Both sides are mongering fear and we are left with putting some perspective to what they have to say.  But do we really have anything to be afraid of? I mean, sure, President Obama might spend every dime we have in the treasury until we have nothing left and our grandchildren have to grow up Muslim after he sells the United State to Turkmenistan.  It could happen!  But that is as likely a scenario as the Republican’s abolishing Social Security and Medicare forever and giving you $10 off coupons to see your doctor…ok, that might happen!  In any case, I’ve come up with a list of five things that should be able to put your mind at ease until the next election.  The following are things that don’t scare me. Five Of The Strangest Presidential Pets

Strange Presidential PetsIt seems that every President of the United States has a dog.  When they choose a presidential pooch, it makes the headlines.  Questions come up like, “Is it an American breed?“, “Did he choose a mutt or a purebred dog?” and most recently with Barack Obama’s choice “Will it cause problems for his children with allergies?“.  However, not all presidents like to choose a dog as the “Official Pet of the White House”.  Sure, some will have cats, but these presidents went beyond the norm and picked some really off-the-wall animal companions.  Here’s a list of five of them.
