5 Things That Have Actually Gone Wrong On Halloween
There's a running joke between our friends that whenever my wife and I have a Halloween Party, something bad happens. I guess it is sort of true. In the past few years, we've had a bit of bad luck when it comes to Halloween Parties. In 2008, on the night of our party, my wife was rear-ended on her way home from work and had to stand on the side of the road in her costume for over an hour. In 2010, I had to make a visit to the emergency room the day before our party for a problem with my leg. And, the piece de resistance, in 2009, I DROPPED OVER DEAD in the middle of our Halloween Party, had CPR done on me for 20 minutes, and then had to be life flighted to a hospital, where I stayed until Thanksgiving! Yeah, that year wasn't so good. Hopefully, we have no problems this year. We are not alone with our troubles on Halloween, though. Here is a list of five other groups of people who had a really bad All Hallow's Eve! Read more...

Five Best Sci-Fi Novels By H.G. Wells
Today is the birthday of one of my favorite authors, H.G. Wells (Herbert George Wells). He was an English writer best known for his science fiction books, although, his non-fiction body of work was more numerous. With a writing career that spanned more than sixty years, H.G. Wells wrote more than 120 books and numerous short stories. He had controversial views on politics and social society and was outspoken on his view of war. He believed that a Utopia could exist and advocated Free Love. If you ever get the chance to read any of his non-fiction work, you can get a better understanding behind the man. Here is a list of five of his best science fiction novels which gave him a shared title of "The Father of Science Fiction". The others being Jules Verne and Hugo Gernsback. Read more...
