Guide To Spartacus: The Facebook Game

SpartacusIn January, Facebook launched a new game called Spartacus.  As the name would suggest, it’s an arena game of gladiatorial combat, based on the Starz cable television series, starring Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Woman).  The game is based on beating the crap out of other gladiators as you build up your House.  At first, I was a bit skeptical about a game filled with building men as fighting machines, but I love anything Roman and wasn’t disappointed. The game is pretty fun. If you are interested in joining my group of friends on Facebook, feel free to give me a request.  You can find the game at: http://www.facebook.com/spartacusgame

I Am Not Spartacus

The Real SpartacusI have been enjoying a series on the STARZ premium channel called “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”.  It is a depiction of the Roman Republic and gladiatorial combat.  Spartacus is one of the main characters of the show, but everything about it is just a guess.  You see, no one knows much about the real Spartacus.  If you think you know Spartacus, it is most likely from the Kirk Douglas movie or this new series.  You see, Spartacus was a rebel and the Romans didn’t like promoting problems from within its borders.  The series is an interesting look at daily Roman life, though, and you can catch a glimpse at exactly how tough those times were.  Enjoy!
