Layaways Are Back For The Holidays

Once upon a time, people didn’t buy things on a credit card. They put it on something called “Layaway”. Layaway was devised so people could get a product that they wanted and didn’t have to put all the cash down at one time. They would make several payments over a pre-determined amount of time and when they paid the product off, they could take it home. Credit cards changed all of that.

American Shopping Leads Companies to Bankruptcy

With the announcement by General Motors filing for bankruptcy on June 1, is any American company free from closing its doors for good?  In my grandfather’s time, if you had spoken of GM going broke, he would have laughed and likened that circumstance to the fall of the Berlin Wall.  However, it has happened and there are more giants to come crashing down.
