Presidential Marathon Runners
There's been a lot of news recently on the exaggeration stated by Republican VP nominee Paul Ryan about his speedy marathon accomplishments. While Ryan has run a marathon - and I give credit to anyone who can complete one of these races - he felt the need to state to radio host, Hugh Hewitt that he ran the Grandma's Marathon in two hours and fifty minutes. For those of you who have never run a marathon (myself, included); that's fast. In reality, it is also a lie. Ryan actually ran the marathon in just over four hours (4:01:25). He claims his statement is actually a misstatement, but people who run marathons KNOW what their time was to run this. Should they forget, the information is easily accessible, as Ryan found out when Runner's World magazine fact checked him. I'm not sure why he needed to embellish his running time because it is still an extraordinary feat. Not many candidates can say they have done the same. In fact, I could only find the following five people...
Five Groups That Want To Secede
There's been a lot of talk, lately, of groups or states that would liket to secede from the United States. I am sure most people have thought about this in the past, but none actually plan on doing it. As times continue to head towards the more lunatic fringe, however, there has been more talk about actually pulling away from the United States. It's not going to happen, but they are getting some press time. The act of secession would most likely lead to bad circumstances from the state deciding to make the shift. (See the What If article "What if Texas Succeeds in Seceding?"). Here are five groups that still think that leaving the United States is a good idea and what they plan on doing after they make the move. Read more...

Reality TV Shows We Don’t Need To See
I am not a fan of reality shows. I got ticked off at MTV when they decided to can the music videos by casting The Real World. I never really got into Survivor, don't watch the Bachelor, and could care less about The Amazing Race. I will say that I find myself watching Pawn Stars to see the cool historical stuff they bring in and I have watched The Apprentice. When I was growing up, we used to have sitcoms and dramas. Sure, it was fake, too, but it wasn't pathetic. Today, it seems that every show has to have the cheapest budget and to do that, it has to be free. But can they go too far? Can the television executives just pass on any load of crap for the American public to embrace? I think so! Here are five absolutely ridiculous television shows that are gracing the airwaves for your viewing pleasure.. Read more...

Paul Revere: According To Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin was recently in the news stating that she wasn’t wrong in her statement that Paul Revere rode out on his “midnight ride” to warn the British not to take our weapons. Before I get into this debate: She’s wrong. She is not TOTALLY wrong, mind you, but she's a little mixed up. Sarah took the real story of Paul Revere and added her own little spin to the story. Revere wasn't warning the British about anything. He also wasn't sticking up for your future second amendment rights. Here's the reality of Paul Revere and his famous ride and beyond!
