Meet The Faces Behind The Occupy Movement
Whether you support the two month old Occupy movement or not, there is a lot of violence going on between the cities and the protesters. Is the violence rampant on the part of the protesters? Is it right-wing propaganda? I personally think it is a bit of both. In any case, there are wrongs being done on both sides of the protest. This isn't a Democratic-Republican feud. The people aren't "stinky" and "lazy" and "looking for privileges". They are people - just like you and me - with legitimate gripes and they are trying to be heard. With all of the news featuring the "Occupy Wall Street" protests lately I wanted to take a look at some other protests. This is not to say that I am against the OWS protesters - because I am not. I do feel that they should take a look at the outcomes of some other famous protests and tread carefully when going out to change the world. It always doesn't work in favor of the people protesting. Five Things That Don’t Scare Me
With all of the fear generated in the world today, you would think the United States doesn't stand much of a chance to make it in this world. Just by listening to the news and the people on Capitol Hill will tell you that the other guy is wrong. Right? Both sides are mongering fear and we are left with putting some perspective to what they have to say. But do we really have anything to be afraid of? I mean, sure, President Obama might spend every dime we have in the treasury until we have nothing left and our grandchildren have to grow up Muslim after he sells the United State to Turkmenistan. It could happen! But that is as likely a scenario as the Republican's abolishing Social Security and Medicare forever and giving you $10 off coupons to see your doctor...ok, that might happen!
