Getting People To Come To Your Web Site

Getting people to come to your web siteI have been in the web business since 1998. In those years, I have found that the look and feel of your web site is not as important as getting people to visit and see what you have to say. Job Hunting Outside The Box

Stand out from the crowdFinding a job can, no doubt,  be difficult.  With the economy in the tank and boasting unemployment rates over 9%, you need to stand out from the pack if you want to get a job. As a person who has hired people in the past, I can tell you that if an employer puts out an ad, he’s going to get hundreds of  resumes in response.  So what is a job seeker to do?  How do you stand out when you are a faceless piece of paper in a pile of others with similar skills?  The answer, though I hate to use this term, is to “think outside of the box“.  Depending upon the job, you have to show an employer you can think, will make the company stronger, and yet, don’t have to be a sheep following blindly along with the rest of the flock.  Here are five ways to do this. Social Networking: Does Anybody Know You Exist?

Social NetworkingEverybody in business has some sort of web site today.  However, does anybody know your business even exists?  You probably are feeling pretty good about yourself right now, because you watched The Social Network and got your company on Facebook with a fan page.  I won’t lie to you.  That’s a great place to dip your feet into the internet waters because so many people are on Facebook.  If you are in a retail business or have a lot of people that belong to Facebook that are also your customers, it might do you some good.  However, if you are trying to grow your business, Facebook might not be your first choice.  I’ve put together a list of other networks that can help your business along.  If you are an entrepreneur or a small business owner, then you should be signing up for these networks.  I belong to every one of them, either under my own name, James Fowler, or myFiveBest.  Get your name out there! Let people know that you exist!  Oh, and sign up to be my friend… Read more…
