There have been so many truly awful movies made it is a wonder how the movie studios got the go-ahead to produce the higher quality ones like Iron Man, Batman Returns, and Captain America. Five Novels That Have Been Banned From The Bookshelves
If you haven't heard the news, Mark Twain has been censored. Auburn University Montgomery professor, Alan Gribben, has "sivilized" Twain. He has removed the "N word" out of one of Twain's novels (which appears a total of 219 times) and has replaced it with the word "slave". According to Gribben, it helps to make the book less "injurious" and "hurtful". Not how Twain wrote it, but more politically correct. This isn't the first time this has happened. With the recent controversy of Mark Twain's classic novel "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" being reprinted and censored, here is a list of other books that have been removed from Library shelves due to unsuitable words that may bother some readers. Who Really Killed John Lennon?
Thirty years ago today, John Lennon was murdered by David Mark Chapman as Lennon and his wife walked outside of the Dakota Apartment building. Chapman, supposedly upset about a scribbled autograph that he received earlier, shot Lennon at point blank range. Superhero Movies Planned For 2011
I love superhero movies, as you might have guessed if you are a reader of this blog. The movies coming out next year are really going to be amazing. It is hard to imagine that the Superhero genre of movie has been around forever, but they just never "got it right" until the last decade. With the advance of technology in movie making Hollywood is now able to make the kind of superhero movies that are a treat to watch. Combine that with good story lines and you are in for hours of entertainment. The year 2011 appears to not disappoint.
