The Amazon Kindle Fire: The Christmas Gift For 2011
If you are looking to purchase a gift for that special someone this year, you might want to take a look at the Kindle Fire. The Amazon Kindle Fire is the newest edition to Amazon's Kindle line of e-readers, but this version breaks the boundaries of the reader and comes closer to being a tablet. This item just started shipping in mid-November and I am very impressed with the product for the price that Amazon is asking. In fact, for this price, you could buy two Kindle Fires for less money than the Black Friday prices on the X-Box Kinect Bundle and with this, your kids are guaranteed to learn something! With this new Kindle, you can still read books, but now you can also watch movies, play games, browse the internet, and check your email. What's best is that it allows your children (or yourself) to have an easy handheld device without breaking the bank! Kindle Fire starts at the low price of only $199.00. If you have any more questions why this tablet is the perfect Christmas present, look no further. Read more...

Computer Tablets For More Than Play
So you are thinking about buying a tablet, but are unsure of what you are going to do with it. That is not an uncommon question for people looking to buy one of these trendy gadgets. The early adopters all have them and are telling you that they are the greatest thing to hit the home computer market since the internal modem, but what are you really going to do with this device? To be blunt, if you are looking for your tablet to replace your computer or to use it as a substitute to buying a laptop, you are going to be disappointed. Tablets just cannot fill that gap at this time. However, that doesn’t mean they are useless, either. Here are some of the benefits I have found to work with my tablet. Read more...

How Steve Jobs Changed The World
Today's post has been suggested by Brian Angelo, who writes the blog for The Cake Boutique Shop and has been a friend of mine for over thirty years. Steve Jobs was a visionary and a creative genius; something that the world is truly lacking today. Oftentimes people would equate him with "the other guy" and compare him to Bill Gates of Microsoft, but it was Jobs who helped to create some of the greatest technology innovations of our time. Whether you use Apple products or not, there is no denying that Steve Jobs had an impact on how you see the world. Here is a list of five of those inventions and how they changed all of our lives. You will be missed, Steve. Read more...

The Battle of the Tablets: Which One Should You Buy?
Ever since the Apple iPad was released in 2010, the tablet has made a huge impact on the computing world. Never before were people able to carry a compact computer with a touch screen and do their work. The original tablets were seen as only being capable of reading and playing games. As time has passed, people are starting to realize that you can do productivity and business work with these marvels, as well (although, not as fast as with a laptop). Work can be done on them (I am using my iPad to write this article) and within the next few years, I foresee the tablet as being the only choice of computer. If you are considering getting one of these, you have to ask yourself, "Which one do I buy?" A year ago, there was only one answer: The iPad. Today, more and more companies are following suit with their own versions. Here's a look at five of these. Read more...
