I am sure that by now you are aware that we are having a Presidential election this year. If you happened to miss that news, a new debate is probably around the corner. But who do you vote for if you aren't amongst the political base? The decisions can be difficult, especially if you don't follow politics. All sides have their strengths and weaknesses. The GOP In Review: 2011 Edition
Well, 2011 is over and all I can say is "Oh, that crazy Grand Ol' party!" How you kept things interesting for us all in 2011. You made us laugh, you made us cry. Hopefully, you made us all understand the importance of voting for people who want to work for the people instead of pushing their own private agenda. Herman Cain Is Gone: So Who’s Left?
Herman Cain, the GOP Presidential nominee who was once the CEO of Godfather Pizza and made a rise to the top of the GOP race with his 9-9-9 tax plan has toppled. Amidst a series of sexual accusations that ran the gamut between a thirteen year affair with an Atlanta woman to several sexual harassment charges, Cain's campaign has crumbled into shambles. This, added with a series of gaffes and backpedaling has caused his Republican status to be redeemed and where he once was a potential for President Cain, he will have to live with being Citizen Cain. In the meantime, his family has been hurt, his reputation shattered and the chance for becoming the most powerful man in the world has slipped from his fingers. It makes one wonder, with all of the scrutiny that goes into becoming a public official, is it really worth it?
So, who's left? The Republicans will start dropping off like flies now that we are heading into the primaries. The fickle behavior of the American people have put many candidates to the top of the polls, but with a few comments, they have all fallen. With all of the Republicans running for President of the United States this year, it is sometimes hard to tell one from another, especially when it comes to the issues. Which GOP Candidates will you vote for? What do they stand for? You could listen to the news twenty-four hours a day and still be confused. If only there was a way to put everything into a short, seventeen-syllable summary...Oh wait, there is always Haiku! Haiku is a type of Japanese poem you might remember from school. Another 5 Reasons Obama Will Win A 2nd Term
Back in April, I wrote an article entitled, "The 5 Reasons Obama Will Win A 2nd Term". In that article, I described the competition that he was facing with the Republican party and why the best bet of the GOP would be to wait until 2016 when they could field a better candidate. I had quite a bit of backlash from GOP supporters on how "I should wait" until the real Republican candidate steps forward and will totally blow everything Obama is trying to do out of the water. So here it is, almost September. It is 14 months before the election and we are still waiting. Obama continues to build capital for his uncontested race and the Republican party hasn't come up with a viable candidate. Sure, they look good at first, but then we realize that they are just a parody of leadership. I feel that the Republicans hoping for a viable candidate in 2012 is like the proverbial search for Prester John (look it up). He or she just ain't going to be found because they don't exist. If the GOP still thinks they have a chance, let us look at our choices and you can decide who will do better in the position. Read more...
