Best Civil War Films On Memorial Day
The American Civil War (1861-1865) was a dark time in our history. The Union army versus the Confederate army - all Americans - struggling in mortal combat with one another over the issue of slavery and each others way of life. While the war didn't happen in our lifetime, its final outcome still affects our lives today. As a way of remembrance, we have books and Civil War films to tell the tale of what happened. The movies, which this list is comprised of, may not be wholly true, but they do give you a sense of what was going on at the time. Many movies have been made on the Civil War, but these movies make up my favorite list of the War Between The States. Read more...

Five Movies That Should Have Won An Oscar, But Didn’t
Last night, we were sitting around talking about great movies and someone brought up that some really good films never won an Oscar. Some of the ones on the list were really astonishing, because you would think that these would have been a shoe in for the Oscar award. Some of their problems were just bad timing with another iconic film. Others...well...who knows what the Academy was thinking? Not only are these films all-time classics, but you'd never believe they lost. Please note: Avatar and Twilight are NOT on this list - nor should they be.

The blonde, geeky, little guy to the left doesn't appear to be a tough gunfighter. Here are five things you might not have known about this very scary dentist. Read more...

Five Things That Happened On May 3rd
This page proved to be a pretty popular post, yesterday, so here we come with another one! Everybody doesn't like or "get" history, so we're trying to present it in an easy-to-understand format that anyone, no matter what the age, can grasp. History is kind of funny (sometimes), but it is definitely filled with sex and violence - and let's face it, that's why most people want to read about it anyway. Here's five things that happened on this day, May 3rd, also known as World Press Freedom Day around the...well, world. Read more...
