Five Things That Don’t Scare Me

With all of the fear generated in the world today, you would think the United States doesn't stand much of a chance to make it in this world.  Just by listening to the news and the people on Capitol Hill will tell you that the other guy is wrong. Right? Both sides are mongering fear and we are left with putting some perspective to what they have to say.  But do we really have anything to be afraid of? I mean, sure, President Obama might spend every dime we have in the treasury until we have nothing left and our grandchildren have to grow up Muslim after he sells the United State to Turkmenistan.  It could happen!  But that is as likely a scenario as the Republican's abolishing Social Security and Medicare forever and giving you $10 off coupons to see your doctor...ok, that might happen!  In any case, I've come up with a list of five things that should be able to put your mind at ease until the next election.  The following are things that don't scare me. Why? Because they either will happen or they won't and when that time comes, I'll accept it. Read more...

Harold Camping’s Five Best Excuses For The Rapture

Harold CampingOK, I need to get one more Harold Camping "Rapture" post out before I let it die. Hmmm...maybe a bad choice of words.  This guy has cried Rapture too many times.  Back in 1994 he told us that the Rapture was coming and now again, this past weekend.  Both times, he was obviously wrong.  I've put together a list of excuses Camping might want to use.  None of them are real, of course.  He believes that he misjudged the date.  I think he's crazy. Five Best Things Overheard At Fox News

Barack ObamaIt's official.  Osama bin Laden (or Usama, as they call him on Fox News) is dead.  We've searched for him for nearly ten years and, as you've probably already heard, the United States completed their goal - eight years TO THE DAY of President George W. Bush declaring "Mission Accomplished!"  Through superior news gathering, we were able to overhear five fair and balanced comments being stated at Fox News.  I looked at all of the other news agencies and no one else is reporting these vital comments.  You'll only hear about them here. Political Quiz – Stupid Sayings By Politicians

Stupid Political QuotesI don't want to be accused of siding in with one side over the other - both Democrats and Republicans make stupid statements.  I am sure that we'll have plenty of Tea Party quotes to add in future days, as well, but these are five bonehead comments by our leaders.  Trust me, they weren't too hard to find.  See if you can pick out who said what as the American people just look down and shake their heads, groaning "How did these people get elected?" Five Best Rally To Restore Sanity Signs

restore sanityOn October 30th, Comedy Central comedians/talk show hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert hosted a rally on the plaza in Washington, DC which drew tens of thousands of people from across the United States.  It was the strangest-titled mass protest ever held in America's capital: The Rally To Restore Sanity And/Or Hope.  One of our readers participated in this event and was kind enough to send us some pictures of sign carriers from the event.  His name is Joshua Simmons and his web site is www.irant.org.  Here are his five best signs from the rally: Read more...

The Tea Party: “We Are Like The Company We Keep”

Tea Party MovementI am not here to call the Tea Party evil, a bunch of racists, or anything negative, whatsoever.  I just want to quote a man by the name of Miguel Cervantes (he is Spanish - not Mexican - and he wrote Don Quixote, so don't get any ideas that I am quoting someone who is in the U.S. illegally) who stated: "Tell me what company you keep and I'll tell you what you are."  That statement rings true even 400 years later.  I don't believe that every member of the Tea Party is a bad person, hell-bent on white supremacy.  I just think they should take a look at the people who associate themselves with the name and views that they are trying to uphold.  Here are five of those groups or people that keep company with this new political group.  Is it infiltration or the true meaning of what the party stands for?
