Unless you've been living under a rock, then you've heard about the Trayvon Martin case that has been all over the news the past week or so. As it turns out, Trayvon Martin, age 17, was shot and killed by a neighborhood watchman because he looked suspicious. The 17 year old black male was walking home and wearing a hoodie when the incident occurred. According to Geraldo Rivera, the hoodie was equally responsible for Treyvon's death as the gun because hoodies depict the African-American or Latino wearer as a thug and a threat to ordinary citizens. Never mind the fact that Geraldo is Latino and has been seen on more than one occasion wearing a hoodie, himself. This article of clothing is what did the young man in. So it got me to thinking that Geraldo just might be right. Here is a list of five famous people who wore hoodies. They fared about as well as Trayvon Martin, too.
