Five Famous People Who Died By Drowning
The act of drowning is a terrible way to die. It is caused from asphyxia due to suffocation caused by water entering the lungs and preventing the absorption of oxygen. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), drowning is the 3rd leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide, accounting for 7% of all injury related deaths. Drowning itself is quick and silent, although it may be preceded by distress which is more visible. Most drownings occur in fresh water (lakes, pools, and rivers). Drownings don't usually make the news, but occasionally a famous person dies this way. If you were to ask most people about people who drowned, they might make mention of the people upon the Titanic. However, most of those people died of exposure to the cold or from blunt form trauma. The people on this list are of famous people who died by drowning. 5 Things That Have Actually Gone Wrong On Halloween
There's a running joke between our friends that whenever my wife and I have a Halloween Party, something bad happens. I guess it is sort of true. In the past few years, we've had a bit of bad luck when it comes to Halloween Parties. In 2008, on the night of our party, my wife was rear-ended on her way home from work and had to stand on the side of the road in her costume for over an hour. In 2010, I had to make a visit to the emergency room the day before our party for a problem with my leg. And, the piece de resistance, in 2009, I DROPPED OVER DEAD in the middle of our Halloween Party, had CPR done on me for 20 minutes, and then had to be life flighted to a hospital, where I stayed until Thanksgiving! Yeah, that year wasn't so good. Hopefully, we have no problems this year. We are not alone with our troubles on Halloween, though.
