Five Intriguing NFL Games For Week 2

The NFL's opening season for 2010 was exciting. Two teams lost on touchdown passes that never were, we witnessed some upsets, and as usual teams are ready to push the panic button. Week 2 should have plenty in store for us. We could see teams like the Colts, Jets, Bengals, Cowboys, Vikings, and Chargers (all potential Superbowl contenders) start 0-2. We could also see a few unexpected teams start 2-0. Let's take a look.

New York Giants at Indianapolis Colts
THE MANNING BOWL!! I'm very excited for this game. It is not too often that we get to see 2 Superbowl winning quarterback brothers face off against each other. This will actually be their 2nd time facing each other since the younger Eli Manning joined the NFL. Peyton Manning's Colts won the first meeting between the two. This game would still be a huge game even if weren't for the Manning brothers. The Colts were torched for over 200 rushing yards last week by the Texans so look for the Giants RB Brandon Jacobs to get plenty of action. I don't think it will be enough, however, as the Colts will win 28-17.

New England Patriots at New York Jets
It is well documented that these two teams hate each other. It is also very well documented that the Jets think they are the "bee's knees" of the NFL. After Monday night's faceoff with the Ravens, we can see they are clearly not. The Jets could not find anything offensively as the Ravens smothered them into a 10-9 loss. The Patriots found themselves on the good side of a shellacking. Brady was excellent in 38-24 defeat of the Bengals. I look for the Patriots to win 21-10.

  Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals
These two teams were mentioned in the matchup above so you know the results of their previous games (Ravens over Jets 10-9, Patriots over Bengals 38-24). Throw those out the window. The Ravens will look to get what was supposed to be a high powered offense moving, and the Bengals will look to play a lot better defense. I'm going with the Ravens, 17-14.

  Houston Texans at Washington Redskins
The Skins' defense saved them last week as the offense didn't look too hot. Actually, the Cowboys saved the Skins' defense with all the penalties. Regardless, the Skins' won a huge game. The Texans dismantled the Colts and look like they may be a legit contender this year. Arian Foster made the Colts defense look like they were a bunch of rookies. Look for the Texans to continue riding high and take out the Redskins 20-10.

New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers were supposed to have a very strong team this year. All that went out the window (for now) after the Seahawks crushed them. The Seahawks dominated every aspect of that game, the 49ers were never in it. The Saints won a big game against the Vikings, but did not look impressive in doing so. This could easily be an upset, but I will lean the other way and go with the favored Saints, 27-10.
