Five Best Vacation Spots for You and the Kids
Well it's finally summertime and the kids are out of school. They're sitting around the house playing video games, fighting with each other or out wreaking havoc on the neighborhood. Maybe it's time to take them on an adventurous summer vacation they will always remember. Here's a list of the 5 best summer vacations for the whole family. 1: Disney World - Orlando, FL
If you've never been to Disney World, you simply must go...even if you don't have children. A Disney vacation is not only fun for the kids, but adults as well. There's so much to do, and the night life is incredible. Disney World is the vacation of a lifetime and you'll have as much fun as the kids.
2: Outer Banks, North Carolina
This was by far the most relaxing vacation my family has ever taken. The Outer Banks are very quiet and family friendly. You can sit back and relax on the beautiful beaches, which are rarely ever crowded by the way, while the kids build sand castles. It's a short drive to the strip where there is a lot of unique restaurants and plenty to do and see. I love the Outer Banks because it's not nearly as commercialized as Myrtle Beach and some of the other more “touristy” beach destinations. If you go, be sure to stop by one of the coolest restaurants on this planet, “Capt'n Frank's Hot Dogs” in Kitty Hawk at mile marker 4.5.
3: Yellowstone National Park, Montana - Wyoming
This is a great opportunity for kids to get away from TV, video games and computers. Established in 1872, Yellowstone is comprised of 3468 square miles of the most pristine land the United States has to offer. Whether you are looking to hike, camp, fish, or boat, Yellowstone National Park has something for the outdoor enthusiast to do.
4: Lake Cumberland, Kentucky
Lake Cumberland is the houseboat capitol of the world. A lot of the houseboats for rent are large enough to hold several families. There's also camping and cabins available which are a lot less expensive. Lake Cumberland houseboat vacations have become extremely popular because there's so much there to do and they have almost every activity imaginable.
5: Atlantis Resort - Paradise Island, Bahamas
When I went to Atlantis, my kids were too young so it was just my wife and I. Atlantis has to be the coolest resort in the world. There's so much to see just walking around the resort. The architecture is absolutely stunning. There's marine life everyw here, and there's shark filled pools where the sharks are close enough to touch. Atlantis offers an abundance of activities for the kids which will keep them busy from morning to night.
