Five Best Infant Car Seats

If you are familiar with our “About Us” page then you would know that I have a baby due very soon. We are pretty much ready for the baby to arrive, but we still have a few more things that we need. I’m the type of guy that has to do serious research on any product that has to do with my child’s safety. Car seats are what I spent the most time researching and here are the five best infant car seats.

Chicco Key Fit 30 - The best thing about the Key Fit is how easy it is to install. If you read through any car seat instruction manual you will see that proper installation plays a tremendous part of keeping the baby safe. The Key Fit has a liquid levelers and a locking system that is very easy to operate. The seat is also very light so bringing baby from house to car and car to house should be no problem. This infant seat can hold children up to 30 pounds (which is great for such a light seat) so you will be able to use it for a long time.

Graco Snugride- The Snugride has some of the best safety rankings of all infant seats. It is equipped with EPS Foam to absorb a lot of any impact and a 5 point safety harness system. The Snugride is also very comfortable for the baby and comes with a wide variety of prints. The Snugride is compatible with quite the list of strollers and has easy installation which is extremely important. Being such a good stroller does not mean that it is overpriced, you can find this stroller for as low as $107.

Graco Infant SafeSeat Step 1- This seat is intended more for tall, heavier babies. Equipped with a 5 point harness system, this seat has the biggest weight/height capacity at 30 lbs and 32 inches tall. The seat has exceptional safety ratings and is just as comfortable as the Snugride. The drawback for this seat is that you will be getting a workout while transporting baby outside the car because the seat is heavy. But if you have a heavier baby then you should be used to it.

Baby Trend Flex Loc Infant Car Seat - The Flex Loc is an inexpensive, very safe seat that should please you. The foam in the head protection area exceeds federal requirements and the seat is equipped with a 5-point safety harness system. The base is fully LATCH or non-LATCH compliant. Like the above seats this car seat has level indicators. A downfall on this seat is that it can only be used with Baby Trend strollers, so if you don’t like any of their strollers then tough luck.

Britax Companion Infant Car Seat - The Britax is another great seat for taller babies (but also very good for normal sized babies). This seat is one of the safest seats available. It comes equipped with a tangle free 5 point harness, true side impact protection with extra EPS foam, and an anti rebound bar. The Britax Companion also has adjustable air filled pockets that can be customized to fit the baby.
