With all of the Harry Potter fever going on, we had to jump on the bandwagon and put together our own list of Harry Potter web sites for the fans to look up information on before going to the new movie, this week. This has to be the mother of all Harry Potter sites. The Leaky Cauldron is the best source online for getting all of the latest Harry Potter news within minutes of it being discovered. The Leaky Cauldron Harry Potter fan site keeps fans up to date with every little detail about the books, JK Rowling, the films, merchandise and the films actors. It even informs fans about projects the films actors are working on outside of the Harry Potter films. Besides providing up to date Harry Potter news The Leaky Cauldron also contains a fantastic mammoth forum which currently has just under 1 million posts and just under 50,000 members. Each day fans can browse and participate in hundreds to topics surrounding the Harry Potter books. This is JK Rowling’s personal Harry Potter site. The site is designed in flash and incorporates many features of the book such as port keys, spiders and peeves. A non Harry Potter fan would probably not know where to begin on entering this fun site. JK Rowling uses her Harry Potter fan site to set straight rumors about her and the books as well as communicate significant events such as work on a book. The site occasionally has some fun interactive features. For example there were puzzles created and on solving these puzzles Harry Potter fans were given the title of a new book. The site also has a fun quiz called the W.O.M.B.A.T where Harry Potter fans get the chance to test their book knowledge.

This is probably the second most popular Harry Potter fan site. MuggleNet is an excellent resource for getting the most recent Harry Potter news and is often in friendly competition with The Leaky Cauldron to see who gets the news on their site first. On this Harry Potter fan site visitors will enjoy a number of fun features including a gallery, contests, funny quotes from the books, discussion area and information about the movies. There is also a fun section containing quizzes, trivia, avatars and wallpaper. On of the most popular features of MuggleNet is its fan section. In this section fan can submit their Harry Potter artwork as well as Fan fiction describing their own Harry Potter tales.

It is great to see there is such a big fan base for harry potter and all of his wizarding friends. I wonder what kind of copper pots and things they might use to mix their magical spells and everything in. or maybe they use cast iron more, im not really sure or ever have really thought about it much.
