Five Ways The World Could End
With December 12, 2012 looming on the calendar, thoughts of the end of the world might be something we’re concerned about. This theory comes to us since the Mayan Calendar ends a cycle – which many take as the end of the world. Personally, I don’t believe that is the end of the world because their calendar ended. However, I do think there are other possibilities that may keep us teetering on the edge of extinction. Here are five theories of our demise. Full Story »
5 Actors To Play Rocky Balboa In The Remake Of Rocky
Posted by Jimm in Entertainment, What Ifs on July 25th, 2010
OK, I don’t even know if they have a plan to remake Rocky, the success story about a local boxer from Philly who got to fight the heavyweight champion of the world, but if they did, I have five actors to play the part! Who could take the place of the Italian Stallion, Sylvester Stallone in a modern rendition of this film classic? I am sure whomever they chose would probably speak a little clearer (“Yo! Adreee-anne!“), but is anyone in Hollywood capable of filling those gloves? Here are five that I think would be good in the part: Full Story »
What If: “The London Gun” Hadn’t Been Created?
It’s been awhile since I’ve written one of these “What If’s” so it is about time to talk about some unknown history they don’t teach you in history class. So, you’ve never heard of the “London Gun”? It was a secret weapon designed by the Nazis during World War 2 in an attempt to finish off England once and for all. If this weapon had been activated, the entire history of the planet may have been different – and not for the better! Here is the story… Full Story »

The NBA’s summer free agent frenzy is picking up steam. This year’s class could historically cash in. Big names like Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce stand to make some serious money. The biggest name available though belongs to Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was quoted recently telling CNN’s Larry King “Cleveland has the upper edge in signing me.” However, if he does leave Cleveland, it would be devastating to the city. Here are 5 things we could see in the city of Cleveland IF Lebron leaves. Full Story »
What If Jesus Actually Wrote A Book About His Teachings?
Posted by Jimm Fowler in What Ifs on May 20th, 2010
Wouldn’t life be a lot simpler if people could stop arguing about what Jesus meant to say and actually just read the words themselves? If Jesus said “it is better to turn the other cheek”, there would be no room for discussion, you’d just know exactly what he meant. What if there was such a document? Some people believe there actually was a missing book of Jesus Christ. Here are five things you might find surprising: Full Story »

As 2012 approaches, I guarantee you will be in more than one conversation involving the end of days. You will talk about maybe a gigantic meteor crashing into the earth and causing massive tidal waves. Maybe you will discuss the possibility of nuclear warfare ending the world. If the world is to end, the one way I don’t want it to happen is by the eruption of Super Volcanoes. I’m talking full-scale eruptions, eruptions with all the volcanoes energy behind it. Here are five Super Volcanoes that could do some serious damage to the Earth as we know it. Full Story »

Posted by Jimm Fowler in What Ifs on February 10th, 2010
There’s been a lot of talk about the state of Texas seceding from the United States. Governor Rick Perry has mentioned secession several times over the past year as a way to avoid federal taxes and ex-Governor Sarah Palin even mentioned it the other day in a speech in the southern state. But what would happen if they actually did it? Here are five very real possibilities. Full Story »

On this date in 1959, a small plane went down near Clearlake, Iowa, killing all four people on board. Among the dead were singers Buddy Holly, J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, Ritchie Valens, and pilot, Roger Peterson. What if it never happened? What if the plane was never chartered and never crashed. Here are five possible outcomes. Full Story »

Posted by Dennis Howell in What Ifs on January 28th, 2010
Since I took some time off myfivebest added the “What If” category and I have been itching to do some posts. One question some of my friends and I debate is “How would it have been if Kurt Cobain would have never committed suicide?” Kurt Cobain was the lead singer of Nirvana and when he died he was instantly remembered as one of the greats, but would it have been that way had he not committed suicide? What if Kurt Cobain never committed suicide? Full Story »
