myFiveBest Turns Four Years Old!

myFiveBestIt doesn't seem possible, but myFiveBest turns four years old today. This is currently my 1660th article with the web site and I wanted to take a couple of lines to tell our readers what has been happening in the world of trivia, interesting facts and trivia. The web site began as a game my father and I used to play when I was growing up. The object was to name five examples on any topic. It is a game I have been playing most of my life. I love trivia and history and I don't think I will ever stop. I would just like to thank our fans for keeping this web site going by visiting and clicking on ads. Without you, this site would not exist. After four years, a lot is going on with the web site, so I will keep you up to date - with a list of five, of course!

Five Lies About “The War On Christmas”

War On ChristmasEach year, people make posts on the internet or Facebook about Christmas that are patently false.  Nothing steams me than to see these lies repeated by good intentions.  I don't blame the people who post them, necessarily, because they hear them from places that they believe to be trustworthy and true. There is no "War on Christmas".  It is a made-up controversy.  Because you do something different than someone else doesn't mean that they are trying to take your holiday.

What it comes down to is that no one is trying to make war on the Christmas holiday season.  Whether you don't believe the Christian religion or not, the entire season is about good will towards others and living in peace.  That's the true "Reason for the Season".  It isn't about spending money, shouting that your god is better than the next guys god, or seeing who can have the most lights on their house.  It's about living in harmony with your neighbors, no matter what your differences. Christmas Shopping Facts

Black Friday is generally considered the day following Thanksgiving which kicks off the Holiday Shopping Season.  On this day, stores all over America have big sales to get people in the mood for shopping.  There are some people who wait in lines, over night, to ensure that they are first to pick up on those "great deals".  Black Friday then leads to "Cyber Monday", which is a new occasion to denote the Monday following Thanksgiving.  While we are all supposed to be back to work, it is the time people get online to continue shopping.  Don't worry, though.  If you miss those two days of sales, there is plenty of time right up until December 25th to get your shopping in...to be followed by the day after Christmas sales!  If you find any time to yourself, though, you might enjoy these Christmas Shopping Facts during the holiday season! Facts About The Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier

On Veteran's Day, we try to remember our soldiers and the sacrifices they have made to keep our nation free.  In the United States, we do this in the form of military services, parades, offers to our veterans and a special tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C.  This national monument was built in 1921 to commemorate the U.S. Soldiers who went to war and never came back.  The bodies interred there, as the name suggests, are unknown.  Here are a few interesting facts about this memorial and what it means to our country, as well as the rest of the world.
