5 Harmless Office Pranks

officeprankSometimes life in the office can be a drag. Well, depending on where you work, a lot of time in the office can be a drag. It doesn’t have to be that way all the time though. Liven it up with some simple office humor, but don’t take it overboard because even if the office is boring, you still need your income. Here are 5 suggestions for harmless office pranks that should keep you out of trouble.

number1  Plastic Wrap or Tin Foil Everything Possible - This prank requires some serious time if you are going to go all out and wrap EVERYTHING (staplers, pens, mouse, pictures, post its, etc…). Wrap the chair, phone, computer, mouse, keyboard and anything else you feel is necessary. Once you get the finished product, watching your co-worker unwrap everything while being very aggravated is very much worth the time spent. To make things even funnier, more time than not the prankee will find something wrapped up a few weeks later…priceless.

number2  Box Up a Fellow Employees Items - Assuming you get to work before the prankee put all of their personal items that are on their desk into a box. Leave it on top of the desk and maybe even put their name on an empty envelope to set beside the box. When your fellow employee comes in, don’t make any eye contact, have everybody act like they are upset, then watch the hilarity ensue. For a bonus, if the boss wants to get involved, they could leave a post it on the box that says “come see me” or something along those lines.

number3  Switching Computer Cords -  This one takes a lot of things to fall into place to turn out good, but if it does it could be pretty funny. First you must work in an office where the computers or desks are close together (preferably back to back). Secondly the two employees occupying those computers need to come into work at the same time. If you are in this position then what you need to do is switch the cords that go from the CPU to the monitor (computer a cord goes to b monitor and so on). When the prankees log on they will be controlling each others computers and you never know one of them could be pulling up something they shouldn’t.

number4  The Stinky Worker -  Take something that does not smell very good (raw fish, stink bait, deer urine, etc…) and hide it in a good place around the prankee’s desk. It has to be a really good place that nobody will look. I found that if you tape whatever it is underneath the desk, towards the back, then no one will ever find it. If it is something with an immediate stink it will be funny to watch the employee try to find it. If it is something that takes a while to stink, then it is just as funny because the employee who sits there could become accustomed to the smell while everybody else in the office thinks that the prankee has stopped bathing.

number5  Very Loud Power Up -  If you are a fan of simple pranks that scare people out of there pants, then this is the one for you. Take a radio that has volume knobs and plug it into the prankee’s power strip. Turn the radio all the way up then turn the power strip to the off position. When the prankee sits at his desk and realizes that his computer won’t come on because of the power strip being off, get ready to laugh. It is best when you keep the secret to yourself, that way everybody in the office gets a big startle, while you get a big laugh.

These pranks shouldn’t get you into any trouble, but will result in laughter. The sound of them may not seem so funny, but once you actually do it, you will know what I’m talking about.
